When you build an energy-efficient new home, you'll save
on energy costs for years to come – and you can earn thousands
in cash rebates from Alliant Energy.

What are the incentives?
We offer incentives ranging from $700 to $4,400,
depending on the square footage of your home, the level
of your incentive package and whether or not your home
receives heating and/or cooling energy from Alliant Energy.
And as an extra benefit to you, Alliant Energy now offers
three levels of incentives – base, bonus and super-bonus:
- The base incentive is awarded for homes that
qualify for an ENERGY STAR® rating and meet the minimum
building standards outlined by Alliant Energy.
- Bonus incentives are available for installing
premium efficiency heating and cooling equipment,
water heaters, clothes washers, refrigerators, dishwashers
and lighting.
- The super-bonus incentive is available to
homeowners and/or builders who utilize all the bonus
incentives.
Incentives
are given for single-family dwellings or duplexes only.
Duplex incentives may be less, depending on the type
of construction and square footage.

What
are the requirements?
Your home must meet minimum energy efficiency standards
outlined in the specifications
and incentives [PDF format]. Your builder
can explain the minimum standards and help you determine
the total amount of your incentive.
How do I qualify?
- To qualify for an incentive, all homes must first be
inspected by an energy expert identified by Alliant
Energy.
- Participants must be Alliant Energy customers in Iowa.
Homeowners who receive electricity from a municipal
utility or a rural electric cooperative that purchases
electricity from Alliant Energy are not eligible for
incentives.
- Incentives are given for single-family dwellings or
duplexes only. Duplex incentives may be less, depending
on the type of construction and square footage.
- Incentives may be paid to the builder or the homeowner
and should be agreed upon between the two.
